In Process:

A Movement Creation Lab Series

In an effort to bridge the gap between the pre-professional and professional dancer, I have designed an immersive weekend exploring contemporary dance and improvisation as tools to build a shared movement vocabulary. This workshop is part of the early research phase for an eventual evening-length choreographic work. Open to pre-professional and emerging dancers, the lab focuses on process, experimentation, and co-creation—and culminates in an informal studio showing.

The first series took place at Dance Mixx in Tinton Falls, NJ on August 2nd + 3rd, 2025, with plans to return in the winter.

Inside look of “In Process” Movement Research Lab. Focused on ensemble work and movement vocabulary for the world we are creating.

The sharks have pretty teeth, dear (2022)
Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theatre’s “Dance in(Haus)” Program
Inspired by the “new woman” of the 20s and 30s, during this time period of Bauhaus, I sought to create a piece that showcased and celebrated the athleticism of the female body and woman’s continuous perseverance.

Choreographed to excerpts of Kurt Weill’s opera, “Klein Dreigroschenmusik,” including his popular “Mack the Knife.”

Music by Kurt Weill
Duration: 12 mins
Dancers: 6 dancers (1 soloist, 1 pas de trois)

FLEET (2021)
Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater’s “Three’s A Crowd” Program
I wanted to create FLEET to celebrate the joy found in movement, touch, and fleeting encounters, and though these moments are finite, they are still fruitful.

Music by Zoe Keating
Duration: 5 mins Dancers: 6-8 dancers
Can be en pointe

A Continuation (2020, 2021, 2022)
Bell Works “Stories of the Season” Program (2021), Mignolo’s Spring for Spring Festival (2022)
Conceived in my childhood bedroom during the COVID-19 pandemic, A Continuation was inspired by Leonard Cohen’s “Leaving the Table.” The work is an intimate ritual of solitude, through which I confronted the closing of one chapter and the uncertain, necessary opening of another.

Music by Leonard Cohen
Duration: 4 mins
Dancers: solo or duet (duet reworked to incorporate partnering elements)

We are Phoenix (2019)
Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. Senior Showcase

My choreographic debut and senior thesis, We Are Phoenix, explores the raw terrain of healing where grief, angst, and anger coexist. The piece grants permission for bodies to fully inhabit rage, pain, and even vengeance, revealing these emotions as vital steps on the path to becoming whole.

Music by Gavin Luke and Johnny Cash
Duration: 6 mins
Dancers: minimum 7 dancers
