In Process

A choreographic research and movement creation lab.

In Process is a personalized space for dancers and artists to investigate movement, generate material, and expand their voices through guided improvisation, composition, and collaborative movement practices..

Founded by Lindsay Jorgensen in 2025, the lab was created to bridge the gap between the pre-professional and professional while developing new choreographic work.

Each lab is shaped by the original voices and experiences of the artists in the room, creating a collaborative environment where new ideas, movement, and perspectives can emerge. The lab aims to eliminate the pressure of product and instead embrace creative process with curiosity.

In Process can be brought to studios, universities, companies, festivals, and arts organizations, adapted to meet the needs of each community.

In Process: A Movement Creation Lab Series

The inaugural series took place at Dance Mixx in Tinton Falls, NJ on August 2nd + 3rd, 2025. This immersive weekend explored contemporary dance and improvisation as tools to build a shared movement vocabulary. This workshop served as part of the early research phase for an eventual evening-length choreographic work for Jorgensen. Open to pre-professional and emerging dancers, the lab focused on process, experimentation, and co-creation, culminating in an informal studio showing.
